Our Story
We met in 2021 as two women ready to change lives—starting with our own. Enrolled in Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach Training, Erin and I found ourselves in the same intimate cohort of ten aspiring coaches. Over the course of that year-long journey, we weren’t just learning the art of transformational coaching—we were living it. Week after week, we coached each other, navigating fears, growing our confidence, and refining our coaching skills. Somewhere along the way, we became more than coaching partners—we became friends, vision-holders, and dreamers together.
We leaned on each other through the highs and lows of starting our own coaching practices—cheering each other on, venting when things got tough, and always circling back to: what’s next?
Fast forward to spring of 2025, when one of us casually asked, “Wouldn’t it be amazing to run a retreat together?”—and something clicked. That one question turned into a plan, and that plan turned into a shared mission: to create powerful, soul-nourishing spaces for women who are done pouring from an empty cup and ready to reconnect with their truest selves.
We decided to offer coaching, workshops, and retreats where color meets confidence, where deep coaching meets joyful community, and where women rise together. Today, we’re building a transformative community—one grounded in friendship, authenticity, and the belief that every woman deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
We can’t wait to welcome you into this circle.

Plotting world domination—one colorful, confidence-filled idea at a time
Our mission
At BoldNotBeige, we’re on a mission to help women stop dimming their light and start living out loud. We empower burned out, overwhelmed women to reconnect with who they are, what they want, and how they show up—through bold style, powerful communication, and deep inner work. Whether you’re stuck in people-pleasing or just plain tired of playing small, we’re here to help you rise—with color, confidence, and conviction.
Our vision
We envision a world where women stop apologizing for taking up space and start owning it—fully, fiercely, and unapologetically. Through transformational coaching, confidence-fueled retreats, and dynamic workshops, we’re creating a movement where showing up boldly isn’t the exception—it’s the new standard. Your power was never lost—it was just waiting to be reclaimed.

Erin Hilman
Erin is a certified image consultant, Wayfinder life coach, and color psychology enthusiast who believes that style is far more than fabric and trends—it’s a path back home to yourself. With a deep love for color as a healing and expressive tool, she helps women break free from the invisible rules and rediscover who they are—boldly, beautifully, and unapologetically.
As the oldest of four in a large, lively, and love-filled extended family, she learned early how to lead with compassion, find calm in the chaos, and create space where others feel truly seen. She earned her BA while raising her child as a single mom—an experience that sharpened her grit, heart, and ability to hold big dreams through everyday challenges. After building a successful career in project management, construction, and accounting, she made a bold pivot to blend structure with soul, launching a style coaching business that helps women reignite their confidence, creativity, and joy.
She now brings her signature blend of strategy and soul into every session, workshop, and color analysis. For her, color isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling alive again. The right shades can lift your energy, awaken forgotten parts of yourself, and remind you that you were never meant to blend in. As a mom and multifaceted woman herself, she understands how easy it is to lose yourself in the shuffle of life. Her mission? To help women reconnect with their power, presence, and voice—one outfit, one aha moment, one radiant color at a time.

Ellen Steinlein
Ellen is a first-generation Cambodian-Chinese American, San Francisco native, and lifelong champion of bold conversations and big transformations. Raised at the intersection of traditional cultural values—like obedience, humility, and deep respect for elders—and the Western call to speak up and stand out, she knows firsthand the internal tug-of-war that can make self-advocacy feel like rebellion. But it’s that very tension that sparked her passion: helping others find, trust, and powerfully use their voice.
With a Master’s in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and over 20 years of experience spanning corporate, nonprofit, higher education, and government sectors. Ellen is a keynote speaker, master facilitator and leadership trainer, bringing both strategic insight and lived experience to every room she enters. As a certified coach—holding credentials with the ICF (ACC), DiSC, Gallup Strengths, and the Wayfinder Life Coaching program—she is deeply committed to helping high-achieving women and leaders get unstuck, speak up, and go after what they truly want.
At the heart of her work is a powerful belief: that every person carries an internal radiance just waiting to be unleashed. The path to that radiance begins with the conversations we’re brave enough to have—with others and with ourselves. Through mindset shifts, heart-centered coaching, and unlearning the narratives that no longer serve us, she helps women reclaim their power and rise. Because when we change the conversation, we change everything.
